Hobonichi Colors Cover, Original Size (A6): Which Books It Fits
Hobonichi's A6 books are made to go inside a separate cover, and the Colors series is its plain, solid-colour line: polyester, a hinge-like pen holder, two bookmarks. A cover is only useful if it fits the book you own, and Hobonichi now makes several A6-sized books that do not all take the same cover. This page sets out which ones Hobonichi lists for this cover, and then how to buy the colour you want.

Which books it fits
The cover's own specification lists its "Compatible Techo Books". Each book's specification page lists the covers that fit it. Where both speak, they agree.

"No" is the one case where Hobonichi says it does not fit. "Not listed" means Hobonichi does not say it fits; it is not a claim that it will not close, and I have not tried.
What the cover is, and the pen it takes
From Hobonichi's English product page for the 2027 Colors covers:

The detail most likely to change what you buy is in Hobonichi's "Please Read Before You Buy" note: the pen holder "is designed to fit the 12.2 mm (0.48\") diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free Hobonichi Store Exclusive Bonus", and "The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53\") in diameter", with a caution that some pen shapes and materials may be hard to pull through. If the pen you carry is wider than that, this cover's holder is not made for it. The same note says the stitching can look puckered and the lining loose, because the cover opens flat, and that colours can vary slightly between pieces.
Buying one
At Hobonichi's own store. The 2027 English lineup, filtered to the Original, listed seven Colors covers in A6: Fresh Citron, Blue Parasol, Bordeaux Teracotta, Black x Clear Blue, Navy, Aqua Lime and Airy Flamingo. On 27 September 2026 two of them carried stock notes: Bordeaux Teracotta, "Restock of this product is undecided", and Aqua Lime, marked in the lineup as out of stock with a restock coming. Each cover page shows two prices, labelled on the page "Book & Cover Set" and "Cover Only"; for all seven A6 colours, with the shipping country set to the United States, Cover Only read $26.00. That is a shelf price, before shipping and duty. Whether a US address can buy a cover on its own, without a book, is something the Original's file could not confirm for 2027; check the store's checkout before relying on it. On Amazon US. Of those seven colours, I found four with a listing whose seller line read Hobonichi Co., Ltd. [Official] under both ZIP codes: Fresh Citron (ASIN B0H6P37YSF), Blue Parasol (B0H6PB2T15), Bordeaux Teracotta (B0H6P7JNWB) and Black x Clear Blue (B0B6TRZKXY, whose title carries no year). For Navy, Aqua Lime and Airy Flamingo I found no listing, in three searches of Hobonichi's Amazon storefront and five across Amazon, all under ZIP 10001. The same searches turned up Colors A6 covers in colours that are not in the 2027 lineup; some carried Hobonichi's own seller account and some a third party's. That is why the seller line matters for a cover as much as for a book, and the Original's file sets out how to check it: the ASIN, the "Sold by" line, and the seller ID behind it.
The colour I read most closely was Fresh Citron, new for 2027 and sold on Amazon by Hobonichi's own account: → Hobonichi Techo A6 Cover, Colors: Fresh Citron (Original size). That is a paid link, and it closes the page as well. Its price and stock are Amazon's to show, on the listing.
Three reasons to look elsewhere
- Your book is the 5-Year Techo. Hobonichi says Original covers are not compatible with it.
- Your book is a HON, a Weeks or a Cousin. This cover is not listed for them. For the Cousin, the Cousin's page lists Cousin (A5) covers instead.
- Your pen is wider than 13.5 mm. That is Hobonichi's stated limit for the holder.
Not assessed on this page, among others: the Colors covers for other sizes, the Cover on Cover, Hobonichi's other cover series, and any other maker's cover. They are listed so you know they were left out, not because they were weighed and found wanting.
